Everyone likes to get away for the holidays. But if you are anything like me, the holiday shopping ordeal means that you are strapped financially. So how do you take that special winter vacation, when it seemed all you could do to just put Christmas presents under the tree? Fortunately, you do have some low-budget vacation options, if you just know where to look for them. Here are some tips for how to find cheap winter travel deals:

Group savings sites. Did you know that websites like Groupon and Living Social have departments specifically geared to bringing you the best travel deals around? I am sometimes shocked and amazed at the specials delivered to my inbox – so much so that I wish I could vacation year-round. To take advantage of these deals, simply visit the websites, sign up for your location and interests, and wait to receive your offers

Off season. So, you hate the snow and want to escape the winter blues in favor of something warmer, and perhaps even tropical? Fortunately, your winter season is some distant beach’s off season. That means you can get flights and accommodations at a fraction of the price. Search the Internet, or ask a travel agency, for great off season suggestions.

Timing is everything. When it comes to finding cheap flights, there are certain times during the winter season when flights can be booked the cheapest. For example, flights during the two weeks right at the mid-point of Thanksgiving and Christmas are the easiest to book, and the least expensive, because people are generally over traveling for Thanksgiving, and haven’t yet set out on their Christmas vacations. When airports are slow, you can be sure to find a deal, so monitor flight booking sites daily, and well in advance, in order to catch prices when they’re at their best.

Call directly. Rather than checking into a hotel’s website or calling the 800-number for customer service, call the hotels you are interested in staying at, using their local numbers. If it is slow season and you speak directly with a manager of the branch you want to stay at, chances are you can bargain for a discounted rate – just for asking.

As you can see, there are some very simple things you can do to find winter travel deals and make a real vacation for yourself, on a dime. The trick is to do your research, do your legwork, be flexible, and be open to options you might not have originally had in mind.

There are composters of small dimensions that are suitable for a small place. Although a RV can have little free space left there is always the chance to get a small space where a composter can fit.

Composting while traveling is important. Not only are you avoiding to waste important elements to use in a composter but you are also helping the environment by not throwing away organic ingredients.

One of the many things you will enjoy on a trip to Senegal is the delicious food! The cuisine has been influenced by France since Senegal was a colony of France, but Portugal and North Africa as well as ethnic groups like the Islamic Wolof also give Senegalese cooking its distinctive flavor.

As Senegal is on the Atlantic Ocean, fish is important but chicken, beef and lamb are used often in Senegal cooking but you won’t find much pork due to the Islamic influence. Vegetables include lentils, sweet potatoes, and black-eyed beans and you can also find peanuts and bananas in the country’s tasty dishes. The dishes are often stews served over rice or couscous.

After a day exploring Senegal you might want to try “Thiebeoudienne”(pronounced cheb-oo-jen), marinated fish, rice and peanut oil cooked in tomato paste, and it is the national dish of Senegal. By the way, ”Thiebeoudienne”, can be spelled around ten different ways so you can also look for “Ceebu Jen”, “Ceeb Bu Jen” or “Theibou Dienn”.

Bassi-salte is meat marinated and cooked with vegetables and tomato paste over couscous. Then there is “Yassa Poulet” (or “Poulet Yassa” or “Yassa au Poulet”) which is chicken simmered in onion, garlic and mustard but the secret ingredient is the lemons!

You can make “Maafe” (Maffe) with a variety of ingredients such as beef, chicken, lamb or fish. “Maafe” is then stewed with tomatoes and peanuts.

And to finish off a delectable mean you can try one of these national desserts. There’s “Banana Glace”, which is sort of like banana soup. Then there is “Dege” a rice and couscous pudding and “Beignets”, fried balls of dough sprinkled with sugar. If you’re out on the street try “Cinq Centimes”. “Cinq Centimes” means “five cents” in French and if you go into any marketplace you can find this yummy “five cent” peanut cookies.

There are also some unusual juices in Senegal. All fresh, there are ginger, mango, and “Buy” (pronounced “bouy”) juices. “Buy” is juice from the fruit of the baobab tree. Baobab trees are also known as monkey bread fruit and tastes a bit like a cross between a pear and an apple. Bissap is another drink and is considered the national beverage of Senegal and is basically a kind of hibiscus tea. So when you travel to Senegal be sure to try one of these national, flavorful dishes, desserts and juices!

Cyprus is among the most consistently popular holiday destinations in the entire Mediterranean and with expansive beaches, terrific nightlife and wonderfully welcoming locals, it isn’t difficult to understand why. The good news is that there some incredible deals on cheap holidays to Cyprus available right now.

As you might expect from an island sitting close to the coastlines of Turkey and Greece, Cyprus has more scorchingly sunny days than virtually any other part of Europe. The island has a remarkably rich history that stretches back thousands of years to the days when its neighbors in Greece and elsewhere were essentially inventing what we think of today as being modern civilization. Much of this history can be seen and explored via in the ruins and ancient buildings that still exist around the island.

Not everyone takes an interest in the deep history of the places they visit of course and there is absolutely no obligation to do so. After all, relaxing on a beach all day can really take a toll of its own and there are so many to choose from in Cyprus that even the decision of where to settle in for the afternoon might prove a little challenging. All part of the delightful distractions while you’re enjoying the best of cheap holidays to cyprus.

One element of the island’s attractions that no holidaymaker to Cyprus will want to miss out on is the local cuisine. Influences from all corners of the world have been absorbed across Cyprus to create a unique blend of cooking habits and there are some really great restaurants across the island taking bookings all year round.

For those who prefer to plan their holidays on an all-inclusive basis there are hotel complexes designed precisely with these arrangements in mind and a wide range of accommodation packages are on offer at all times. From five-star resorts to the less extravagant end of the market, Cyprus has it all and at prices that have helped to make it one of the most visited holiday destinations in Europe for decades.

Among the best loved places to visit in Cyprus is the coastal city of Paphos, where there are some really wonderful tourist attractions like the local port and marina, the ancient castle and the ruins that are protected as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is a great visit for families or groups of friends but, as the legendary birthplace of the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite, it is also a highly recommended and alluring destination for couples.

Car repair is no more the sole realm of men than cooking is the domain of women. It is important for women to be able to make simple repairs for seemingly complex problems to avoid being ripped of by a deceptive mechanic. Below are a few quick and easy repairs that any girl can do in order to save money and reduce unnecessary stress.

Wiper Blade Replacement

Replacing window wipers is one of the easiest fixes that you can do and because they get so much usage, this repair can prove frequent. All you have to do is go into your local AutoZone or other auto part supplier and request the wiper blades that are specifically designed for your vehicle. Then you simply remove the old wiper blades where they meet the moving arm (where there is generally a tab that needs to be depressed) and then snap the new wiper blades on in their place.

Fixing A Flat

Calling a tow-truck is unnecessary when a flat occurs. The tools necessary for the job (a tire iron and a jack) are almost always either in the trunk of the car or beneath the rear seat. Loosen the lug nuts on the car with the tire iron and place the jack on a supporting metal surface just in front or behind the flat tire. After jacking up the car, remove the lug nuts entirely. This will allow you to easily remove the flat tire. Place the spare tire in its place and screw in the lug nuts. Make sure to screw in the lug nuts tight with the tire iron and then lower the jack. Then drive to the nearest tire shop to get a replacement.

//-->

Low Oil

When your car feels like its not riding as smoothly as usual or an oil lantern light appears on your dashboard, it is an indication that you have a low oil level and that it is time to get your oil changed. If you cannot get immediately to a mechanic to get your oil changed out, the best thing to do is replenish the existing oil. You can check the type of oil your car requires in the owner’s manual and buy that oil in any auto part shop or gas station. A couple liters will do the trick. Open the hood and look for the cap with an oil lantern that is identical to the oil lantern light on your dashboard. With a funnel in place, pour the contents of the bottle into the engine.

Scratched Paint

You can find a matching color for your car at a dealership or auto parts store. The paint will come in a tube with a wand that will look very similar to nail polish. Make sure the scratched surface is clean and gently and evenly apply the matching paint.

Headlight Or Brake light

The main reason for a headlight or taillight not working is a loose wire connection. A quick remedy for this problem is giving the headlight or brake light a gentle kick. This will almost always provide a temporary reconnect until you can get the light replaced.
