TwitterFox - The Firefox Extension

Posted on November 17th, 2007 in ,Useful Stuff by Laura

As I wrote on my previous post I started using Twitter and I love it. Usually I have messages turned on on my cell phone, so no matter where I am I receive the updates from people I’m following.

When I’m in the computer I use Firefox extension: TwitterFox to receive and send all the messages. Yesterday there was an update on TwitterFox and now we have 3 tabs where we can check recent messages, replies to messages we sent and Direct Messages sent to us.

This is really interesting since we can interact with everyone we’re following without having to engage in a conversation on Instant Messenger or other.

Twitter - Messages in Motion

I had already heard about Twitter but was afraid to sign up to because of my lack of time. I already am in Facebook and I barely have time to check it and answer to all the invitations I have over there.

Yesterday I decided to sign up for Twitter and I think it is really funny. Although a Messenger can do the same, with Twitter you don’t have to engage in a live chat but just inform others of what you are doing at the moment.

You can be in the public list or you can go private and only accept invitations from who you want. Direct replies are also possible and you can send messages from your computer, IM or Cell phone. You can be on the street, traveling and through SMS you can send messages to Twitter and inform your friends to where you’re heading or what you are doing.

When I’m not on the computer, I turn on my cell phone Twitter notifications and wherever I go I receive the updates at no cost. If I want to send a message to Twitter through my cell phone I pay the normal price I usually pay when I send a SMS to another cell phone. Twitter sign up is free.

Personally I use TwitterFox to follow and send messages. Enter the fun!!

Now, if I knew there was a lost snake on a certain space would I be scared? You bet…for sure I would react at these people reacted at the idea of having a snake on my legs. For sure you want to watch the movie.
