Love Reading is an Ocean of Books

One of the things I regret not doing anymore is reading a book before going to sleep. Since I started being online most of my free time, I just don’t feel like grabbing a book and read. I love reading but it seems I always have something to check online.
The last book I read was Angels & Demons from Dan Brown. I remember so well because it was an excellent book, one of those we just wake up at 4 am just to read a few more pages. I love suspense and a book can give us something a book can’t: details. Now, how can we tell that a particular book will have a good story? You can read the summary of the story but sometimes it isn’t enough.
Most people like to take a sneak peak to some pages of the book to confirm if it seems an interesting book to read. If you are on of those people I have the right website for you.
Useful Stuff wants to let you know about I Love Reading website. It is a huge website where you will dive into a ocean of book. One of the features is that you can read an extract of the featured books. You can even download the extract, print it and read it when you feel like.
There are so many wonderful features that I can number them all here but here are a few more:
- Email Newsletters about newly published books in your favourite categories
- Free Opening Extracts so you can browse each book
- Reviews by book expert Sarah Broadhurst
- Like-for-Like recommendations for discovering new authors
- At least a 25% discount on every book
- Compare Book Prices to find the cheapest place to buy
For book lovers this website is the book paradise.
Art is Art and You Are Art too

As we grow old a lot of the things we did in the past get a little blurry. Usually we never forget the bad things but some of the good ones just seem to slightly vanish. Sometimes bad memories bring us good memories, an example of that is while my husband was serving duty on the Air Force for 22 long months. It was not an easy time but one of the things I really recall is the coal portrait done by a soldier. My husband showed him a photo of both of us and he made a beautiful coal portrait, a very close image of our photo. Ironically we never got it framed and we keep it neatly packed.
Although we don’t have photos of us as a couple we do have a wall with my kids photos. One of these days I was looking at them and I remembered the coal portrait and I said to myself: I have to do the same with my kids however I would like to use some technology. You Are Art has a wide variety of portraits and photo canvas and, although I adore the photo mosaic, I really am a big fan of the graphic and airbrush portrait.
- The photo mosaic is great because it used a collection of photos and we can put there photos from several stages of our life, like baby photos and parties.
- The graphic portrait a truth copy of the photo but with a handcraft touch.
- The airbrush portrait is a combination of graphic and special effects and style artists can make wonderful portraits.
Now, the difficult part is: decide which one I like the most. Tough job.

A friend sent me this photo on a funny images email and I really found it very interesting.
Who is going to use these shoes? I mean, rocawear jeans are comfortable, adidas sneakers are comfortable but these shoes for sure they aren’t. Well, at least that’s my opinion. I can’t use this type of shoes because I have back problems so, I would never look for them while shopping.
What about you? Do you think you would like to wear them?
headphone reviews

I’m been having a dilemma lately. I always used compact headphones. They are easy to use, they are comfortable, sound is perfect however I have a little problem. Usually I watch movies on my laptop in bed and turned to the left side, meaning my left ear is against the pillow. This really is kind of uncomfortable because the pillow applies pressure on the headphone and it hurts my ear.
Recently I read some headphone reviews and I realized that earbud headphones would be much more comfortable once they enter in the ear and would not interfere with my pillow.
Once I also attend several webinars a month, earbud headphones are much more comfortable as discreet.
So, I bought one and they fit just fine on my ears, the problem is that after a while or when I take them off my ears hurt so badly. I wonder if there are other models that can adjust to my ears because I see people with their iPod and earbud headphones and they don’t fall neither I think people are in pain.
Well, I have to try another type of headphones, I just hope I can find ones that fits my ears and are noise-canceling headphones so I can be able to “sound off” my kids when I’m attending a webinar.
Online Gmat Preparation

The Internet is amazing. There are so many things we can do online without having to leave the comfort of our home.
I really regret not having a MBA. I didn’t get one before I started working and now I really feel I don’t have the patience to go back to school. I’ve been doing some free e-courses on web design because I really want to learn to code complete websites and one of these days I came across a word that really got my attention: Knewton. Who doesn’t want to know tons of things?
I took a look at the site and it really caught my eye. One of the courses available is gmat prep. Gmat stands for Graduate Management Admissions Test and it’s used to prepare students to have the required skills to apply for a MBA. This course is done online, at our pace, lessons can be taken on live chat but also on demand to allow those with little time to have access to them when they can. The best teachers are available to teach us how to succeed and improve our skills.
I must confess that I was really interested (although the LSAT and SAT courses are also available) on the gmat preparation and the conditions offered. We can have a free trial and that’s what I intend to do in the next couple of days.

This is what I call “Useful Stuff”. This could be so handy for us here at home.
We have two floor and the game console and computers are upstairs so, when we want something from the fridge we have to go downstairs to the kitchen. Having a small fridge upstairs would be so nice. I came across this video on VideoJug site and it explains how we can make a USB Mini Fridge. Isn’t this awesome??

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Since I started watching Miami Ink and LA Ink on cable TV I’ve been fascinated with tattoos. I always related tattoos with prisoners, gang members, drug consumers, but now I realize I was totally wrong. Anyone can have a tattoo without looking “wrong”. Whether we wear Fendi or Zara clothes we always look great with a tattoo.
I found this book in Amazon and it caught my eye because of the tattoo mention. I’m sure this book is interesting…it has a dragon tattoo in it.
Amazon Best of the Month, September 2008: Once you start The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, there’s no turning back. This debut thriller–the first in a trilogy from the late Stieg Larsson–is a serious page-turner rivaling the best of Charlie Huston and Michael Connelly. Mikael Blomkvist, a once-respected financial journalist, watches his professional life rapidly crumble around him. Prospects appear bleak until an unexpected (and unsettling) offer to resurrect his name is extended by an old-school titan of Swedish industry. The catch–and there’s always a catch–is that Blomkvist must first spend a year researching a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for nearly four decades. With few other options, he accepts and enlists the help of investigator Lisbeth Salander, a misunderstood genius with a cache of authority issues. Little is as it seems in Larsson’s novel, but there is at least one constant: you really don’t want to mess with the girl with the dragon tattoo. –Dave Callanan
Brand New Ways to Boost Your Memory

Relax with an Epsom salts bath!
A new study reveals that upping the level of magnesium in your bloodstream can combat memory loss and enhance learning ability. The reason: A compound in magnesium, MgT, strengthens synapses and nerve connection in the brain’s command center for long-term memory. A relaxing way to get the benefit: Take a bath with magnesium-packed Epsom salts, which get soaked up through your pores, allowing magnesium to enter your system faster than if you took a supplement! And because both magnesium and warm baths help you unwind, you get two benefits in one!
Add avocado to your salad
A little bit of healthy fat can do wonders for your memory, say scientists at the University of California at Irvine. In fact, their research reveals that a hormone released during the digestion of certain fats triggers memory-enhancing signals in the brain, resulting in better long-term memory! But the hormone, called OEA, only comes from oleic acid, found in mono-unsaturated fatty acids like the ones in olive oil and avocados – not in the saturated fat found in burgers and potato chips.
Rent a tearjerker(really)!
As odd as it may sound, researchers report that making yourself temporarily sad – say, by watching The Notebook or Titanic – gives your brain a memory jolt! The proof: In a study, one group of volunteers was asked to recall happy events, the other sad ones, then told to do a series of tasks. The result: The “sad” group was more focused and attentive and could recall past events far more clearly than the “happy”group. Bonus: They were also able to communicate more effectively!
